How To Do Open Repair On Jbl Lsr305

Okay, "teardown" is a stretch.  What really happened?   I leaned back in my chair and knocked 1 of my speakers over and it crashed onto a $12 Ikea Lack table.  The crash bankrupt the ane/8″ to 1/four″ TRS audio adapter I was using, just besides bankrupt the power inlet PCB inside the speaker.  So as I was repairing it, I took a few photos.  Sorry for the terrible photograph quality, only I wasn't thinking of doing a real teardown, but here goes.

Taking off the dorsum plate, we can see how the affair is put together.  Ability supply, signal processing, and power amp all on 1 board.  The bass port is also mounted to the same back plate.

The PCB is fairly directly forward.   The Bottom has the ability supply, and the top portion is the business cease.

Looks like the brains of the device is an ST stm8s005k6t6c, which is an ultra-cheapo 8-bit micro.  The ADC is a Cirrus CS5341.  The DAC/Ability Amp is an ST STA350BW 2x fifty Watt "digital sound arrangement".  The STA350BW surely handles all the indicate processing, which in the case of a studio monitor should be basically crossover, equalization, and non much else.

After pulling the main PCB off, we go downward to the damaged part, and the janky repair.  I should use more proper wiring for this… I know.  Be sure to click on the photos to come across them big and see all of them.

And… good as new 🙂

And… finally, inside the box is very simple.  Just a box, with absorption on the walls, and a woofer and tweeter.  Doesn't become much more simple than this.
